Police are looking for suspects who they say took home appliances from a house near Shepherd Park Plaza last week.
A crime alert from the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office said officers responded to a burglary call in the 1100 block of Bethlehem Street just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. According to the alert, the victim told police he returned from out of town that evening to check on a home he was renting out. The victim said all lights in the house and driveway were on, and that the realtor lock box located on the garage door had been removed.
According to the constable’s office, the suspects cut the doorknob completely off the side garage door and found the key inside the lock box before stealing a washer and dryer from the residence.
The constable’s office said the burglary could potentially be linked to previous incidents in which washers and dryers were stolen, and suspects could possibly have disguised themselves as construction workers in work vans or trucks.
