The Houston Police Department said officers responded to a shooting call at a nightclub at 2836 Fulton St. just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 to find 44-year-old Christopher Rizzo on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bars and nightclubs are not legally allowed to be open in Texas, per an executive order issued in late June by Gov. Greg Abbott.
HPD said witnesses told investigators that Rizzo and his friends got into a fight with a motorcycle group inside the bar before the altercation spilled outside. Police say there was subsequent gunfire exchanged, which injured at least one other person.
Anyone with information on the identities or whereabouts of the men in the surveillance photos is urged to contact HPD’s Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
