Houston police are looking into a shooting incident that injured a young boy at an area apartment complex last weekend.
The 3-year-old boy received a minor wound and was treated at the scene, according to police.
The Houston Police Department said officers responded to a shooting call at the Oakwood Garden Condominiums near Greater Inwood just after 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. According to HPD, the boy and his family were inside their apartment when shots were fired into the apartment. Police say the boy suffered a minor graze wound to his arm as a result of the stray bullets, and that the family is not believed to have been the intended targets.
Tenants told police an unknown suspect or suspects in a gray Dodge Charger or Challenger fired shots toward a group of young males standing near the parking lot of the apartment complex, according to HPD.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact HPD’s Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
