Nonprofit and neighborhood-based organizations can apply for City of Houston support as they work to improve their area.
The city announced Sept. 9 that the application period for its 2020 Neighborhood Matching Grant program is open through Nov. 6. A news release from the city said the program provides dollar-for-dollar reimbursements ranging from $500-$5,000 to support improvement and beautification projects in neighborhoods around Houston.
To qualify for the program, an organization must have a grant project within the city limits and be a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) neighborhood-based organization or civic club.
The city said neighborhood-based organizations without official nonprofit status can co-apply in a partnership with a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) nonprofit.
